Bio & Resume

If Jona could be summarized in one line, it would be: spunk and ridiculousness wrapped up in one innocent looking Asian gal.  So after being told by her mother that her singing was more painful to listen to than her crying, she leapt into screen acting, and has been in over 15 films, 14 TV Shows/webseries, 15 theater productions, 10 commercials,  along with voiceover and print work.

Part of Apple’s international BACK TO SCHOOL campaign, you can see Jona holding up MAC PC’s across the globe on various in-store and online advertisements.

She won the first prize level of the National Warner Brothers Casting Call.

In her free time, Jona enjoys playing flag football, dodgeball, and board games.

What Producer DAVID BALL (ESCAPE OF THE LIVING DEAD, 96 MINUTES, YELLOW) has to say about Jona:

“Every once in a while a producer/director finds an actor that is a hidden treasure, and Jona Xiao is just that actress.  She is as flexible in her approach to any given character as is requested, at the same time she brings a spark that is uniquely hers.  Jona is as comfortable in comedic as well as dramatic roles, but what I truly admire is that when Jona is in character, much like everything else she does, she fully commits no matter how absurd or demanding it may be.  I’ll be there supporting her all the way, lucky me!” -David Ball, SXSW Award-Winning Producer
